A Bit Cooler, Then Nicer for Turkey Day

The San Fernando Valley will experience a slight cooling trend this week, in advance of milder weather for Thanksgiving Day, forecasters said.

“Rain will stay to our north for Thanksgiving,” said Scott Breit, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc., which provides forecasts to The Times.

Breit predicted that today’s daytime temperatures in the Valley and High Desert will range from the upper 60s and mid-70s, after patchy morning fog burns off.

Those conditions will give way to breezier--and chillier--weather Tuesday night before warming up to the mid-60s by Thanksgiving Day.

The ultraviolet index for today is 2, a low level of exposure. Those with fair skin should be safe from sunburn for up to 20 minutes without protection.

Morning lows through Friday are expected to range from the low 30s to the low 50s.
