Titans, Minus Thieme, Fall to Georgia State

Cal State Fullerton, playing without starting point guard Andrea Thieme, lost to Georgia State, 82-72, in a nonconference women's basketball game Sunday at Fullerton.

Thieme suffered a broken nose last week in practice and did not play Sunday, but she could return for Saturday's game at 12th-ranked UCLA.

Kristina Naumovic started in place of Thieme and finished with a team-high 18 points and five assists for the Titans (1-2).

Erin Whiteside added 16 points and 12 rebounds for Fullerton, which trailed by as many as 17 in the first half. Fullerton tied it with eight minutes remaining on a three-pointer by Missy Bynon before Georgia State pulled away.

Leslie McElrath scored 18 points, Christine James had 17, and Ginny Brown had 12 points and 12 rebounds for Georgia State (2-1).
