Ventura 30, Dos Pueblos 21--The running tandem of Tyler Ebell and Mike Anderson led Ventura (4-2) to victory in a league opener at Ventura.
Ebell rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns in 27 carries, including a 13-yard run late in the second quarter to give Ventura a 21-14 lead.
Anderson had 128 yards and one touchdown in 15 carries, and provided the final margin of victory when he completed a five-yard scoring pass to Jonathan Bierly with 20 seconds left to play.
The Cougars finished with 297 yards on the ground.
Ventura took a 23-21 lead midway through the third quarter when Grant Newman blocked Tyler Fredrickson’s punt out of the end zone for a safety.
