Thomas Leads Santiago Past Rancho Alamitos

James Thomas rushed for 209 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead Santiago to a 52-29 Garden Grove League victory over Rancho Alamitos Friday night at Garden Grove High.

Thomas scored on runs of two, seven and one yards for Santiago (4-1, 1-2).

Rancho Alamitos (3-3, 1-1) took a 7-0 lead on the opening play when Lauti Sakaria recovered a fumble by Santiago on the kickoff and ran it in for the score.

Kaiolo Leauasoga also scored two touchdowns for Santiago, one on a 15-yard pass from Brian Pilkington and another on a 23-yard run.
