Winifred Mullen; Longtime Ventura Resident
Ventura resident Winifred “Winnie” B. Mullen died Saturday at a Ventura hospital after a brief illness. She was 90.
Mullen was born March 17, 1908, in Farmer, S.D. She moved to Ventura from Washington state in 1941.
She was an officer manager and a medical transcriptionist for eight years before retiring in 1966. She was a founding member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ventura and was involved in women’s Bible study.
Mullen enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and she was an avid bridge player. Her family described her as thoughtful and gracious.
She married Hal Mullen in 1930 and they celebrated 67 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in June.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ventura. Interment will be private.
Arrangements are being handled by Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
