Fullerton Beats Golden West on Late Goal

Marlene Daut scored with three minutes left in the game as visiting Fullerton defeated Golden West, 1-0, in Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer Tuesday.
Goalkeeper Michele Braur’s six saves helped Fullerton to its third shutout of the season. Lynsey Salsbury had seven saves for Golden West (8-6-1, 3-3-1). Fullerton (6-8, 2-5) lost to Golden West, 1-0, earlier this season.
In other conference games:
Cypress 5, Irvine Valley 0--Amy Maloney, Heather Mears, Erica Ortega, Melanie Fults, and Lisa Hermen scored for Cypress (16-0-1, 7-0).
Orange Coast 8, Riverside 0--Taylor Yurada scored three goals and Emma Ekblad had two to lead Orange Coast (10-4-2, 6-1). The Pirates scored four goals in the first 13 minutes. Riverside is 6-7-2, 2-4-1.
In Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:
Fullerton 4, Golden West 1--Ken Takaki scored both of his goals in the second half when Fullerton (9-4-3, 5-2) outscored Golden West 3-1. The Rustlers are 7-5-2, 3-4.
Irvine Valley 9, Cypress 0--Chris Whitworth scored in the 21st and 22nd minutes for Irvine Valley (14-2-1, 5-1-1), which took a 4-0 halftime lead.
