Council Candidates to Speak at Forum

All candidates for City Council are expected Thursday for a 7 p.m. candidates forum at the Norman P. Murray Community Center.
The event is sponsored by the Mission Viejo Soccer Foundation, and numerous youth sports activists are expected.
One of the issues to be addressed will be the city’s participation in the failed bid to build a permanent stadium for the Vigilantes, a minor league baseball team.
“The whole thing wasn’t handled properly,” said Karen Irvine, spokeswoman for the foundation. “We’re not sure where the breakdown took place.”
Irvine said other issues to be discussed will be sign permits and the local economy.
The community center address is 24932 Veterans Way. Information: (949) 460-4562.
