Carpinteria 14, Nordhoff 7--Ben Scott caught two touchdown passes, including a 50-yard strike from quarterback Ryan Gocong for the decisive score early in the fourth quarter at Carpinteria Middle School.
Joey Briglio gave Nordhoff (4-4) a 7-0 lead with a two-yard touchdown run midway through the second quarter.
Gocong and Scott connected for a 15-yard touchdown pass to even the score late in the half.
Nordhoff drove to the Carpinteria 20-yard line late in the fourth quarter, but the Warriors’ defense held.
Briglio rushed for 97 yards in 25 carries. Nordhoff quarterback Brandon Titus completed nine of 17 passes for 97 yards.
Scott had six catches for 148 yards for Carpinteria (6-2).
