A 30-year-old man was shot and killed Monday night in his driveway during a gang-related attack, according to authorities.

Jerry Jordan was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The shooting occurred about 9:45 p.m. at a residence in the 15400 block of El Cajon Street, said Det. Frank Bishop of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division.

Jordan was standing in the driveway when a dark van carrying several people drove onto the property and at least one person opened fire, Bishop said. The van quickly pulled out of the driveway and the assailants fled.

Bishop said the van was described as a newer model Dodge, possibly dark blue or black.

The shooting was being investigated as a gang-related killing.

“We don’t know why [it happened], but we know it’s gang-related,” Bishop said.

There were no immediate suspects, police said.
