The Lancaster JetHawks allowed a run in the ninth inning and lost to the High Desert Mavericks, 6-5, in the first game of a best-of-three California League playoff series Tuesday night at the Hangar.

Game two is tonight at High Desert. Game three, if necessary, will be Thursday night at High Desert.

SUNS

The Pacific Suns had only five hits in an 8-2 loss to the Chico Heat on Tuesday night at Chico.

Nilson Antigua hit a two-run double in the eighth inning for the Suns (14-30).

Casey Snow, former Crespi High catcher, was promoted from Class-A San Bernardino to triple-A Albuquerque by the Dodgers on Monday. Snow had a double in three at-bats in his debut as Albuquerque lost to Salt Lake, 13-0.
