* At the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Sept. 15-Jan. 3: “Delacroix: The Late Works.” This is the only U.S. venue for this exhibition of some 70 paintings, including “Christ on the Sea of Galilee,” above, and 40 works on paper from public and private collections around the world. * The Philadelphia Orchestra opens its 1998-99 season Sept. 15. Wolfgang Sawallisch conducts Ben Heppner, tenor, and Emanuel Ax, piano, in a program that includes Wagner’s Prelude to “Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg,” the “Prize” Song from “Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg,” Strauss’ Two Songs from Op. 27 and Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in A major.
