A More Efficient Parking Option

* Re “Station Sees Valets as Key to Parking Crush” (Aug. 29):
Perhaps managers responsible for parking chaos at the Irvine Metrolink station should take a cue from businesses like Disneyland, which park tens of thousands of cars within a few hours’ stretch.
Disneyland “controls” where cars are parked by guiding and directing them to spaces in an orderly fashion. Perhaps if the Irvine Metro parking lot was restriped to accommodate more efficient car placement, along with employing traffic “directors,” valet parking would not be required.
Customers returning to the lot would retrieve their own car and leave under their own direction.
