Officials Seeking Man Who Exposed Himself to Girls

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department released a sketch Tuesday of a man who officials say exposed himself to two young girls and followed other girls as they walked to school.

In the last two weeks, three different groups of girls have reported that they were followed by the suspect, including two fifth-graders who said that the man exposed himself to them as they were walking to school, authorities said.

“It appears to be the same person,” said Det. Susan Vaziri, of the Santa Clarita sheriff’s station. “At this point we don’t know for sure, but we are treating these incidents as if it was the same suspect.”

In each case, the first of which occurred Aug. 25 and the most recent last Friday, the girls reported seeing a man on the paseos, or pedestrian over-crossings, near Meadows Elementary School in Valencia, Vaziri said.

Vaziri said the city has trimmed back bushes on the side of the road where the man was hiding, and area schools have sent notices advising parents that the man has not yet been caught.

So far, the man has not tried to make physical contact with any of the girls, Vaziri said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s or 30s, 5 feet 8 and 170 pounds, with disheveled blond hair and a mustache.

He might be driving a blue 1990s Ford Aerostar van, deputies said.
