The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, in conjunction with its exhibition “Rhapsodies in Black: Art of the Harlem Renaissance,” presents the series “Jazz on Film: The Harlem Connection,” opening Sept. 18 with producer-director Jean Bach’s documentary “A Great Day in Harlem,” followed by director Clint Eastwood’s 1988 look at the life of Charlie Parker, “Bird.” The series continues Sept. 19 with film archivist Mark Cantor’s collection “All Roads Lead to Harlem,” and concludes Sept. 25-26.
