After a 4 1/2-month search for an executive director, the Public Corporation of the Arts has chosen the head of an arts council in Connecticut as chief of the Long Beach nonprofit group.
Robb Hankins will begin work Oct. 15, said spokeswoman Diane Smith. He replaces Sandra Gibson, who left to become executive vice president of Americans for the Arts in Washington.
Hankins will move from his post as executive director of the Greater Hartford Arts Council.
The Public Corporation of the Arts promotes arts and culture in the city by funding arts programs, offering training and helping arts groups with marketing.
