Born on June 3, 1901, Schreiber grew up in the family’s historic ranch home in Camarillo, now headquarters for the Ventura County Boy Scouts.

Her father settled in the area known as Hueneme in 1881, where he managed a 6,000-acre ranch encompassing much of the Oxnard Plains. He farmed avocados, walnuts and citrus plants for years until moving to Camarillo.

Schreiber is survived by a daughter, Claire Craig of Ventura, a son, Charles Jay “C.J.” Schreiber of Rancho Santa Fe, nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Mary Health of the Sick Convalescent Hospital in Newbury Park.

Funeral services will be held at Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home in Ventura at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Cemetery.
