* * * Jayo Felony, “Whatcha Gonna Do,” Def Jam. Revered for the title track, which features Method Man and DMX, the San Diego rapper rhymes throughout his second album about largely illegal, chemical-induced activities. Jayo’s instrumentation shifts between bouncy, gangster tracks and eerie soundscapes, adding fuel to his warped tales. His willingness to delve deeper than his competition into the worlds of murder and mayhem makes Jayo frighteningly entertaining.
