Share

The Police Resource Center is relocating from temporary quarters into a permanent office, and volunteers are needed to help with the move, authorities said Wednesday.

The center currently housed in the main lobby of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Station at 2101 E. Olsen Road is moving to an office in the Ventura County Area Housing Authority building at 1400 W. Hillcrest Drive in Newbury Park.

Thousand Oaks contracts with the Sheriff’s Department for police services. The move must be completed by 10 a.m. Monday, when the center opens at its new location.

People interested in volunteering for the move or to work at the center should call Joel Hockman at the sheriff’s crime prevention office at 371-8398.

Services at the resource center will include fingerprinting, crime statistics for residents and crime prevention literature.

School district personnel needing fingerprinting services, referred to as “lifescan” prints, should call the sheriff’s records unit in Thousand Oaks at 494-8208 for an appointment.

The new phone number for the resource center is 498-4200.

Its hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
