Freight Train Derails Near Yankee Stadium

NEW YORK —
A 125-car Conrail freight train derailed near Yankee Stadium Friday, igniting a fire and disrupting rush-hour travel for thousands.
The train, which started out from Selkirk, N.Y., was almost to its destination in the south Bronx when a freight car that was apparently too tall struck an overpass, officials said.
Three empty cars toppled, Conrail said.
