Times Are Set for Wild-Card Playoffs

If a one-game playoff is needed Monday to break a tie in the NL wild-card race, the game will be played in the afternoon.

If the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets tie, the game would be at New York at 10:07 a.m. PDT, the National League said Friday. If the Mets and San Francisco Giants tie, the game also would be at New York at 10:07.

If the Cubs and Giants tie, the game would be at Chicago at 12:07 p.m. PDT.

In the event of a three-way tie, the Giants would play the Mets on Monday at New York at 10:07 a.m. If the Giants won, they would be at home against the Cubs on Tuesday at 1:07 p.m. If the Mets won, they would play the Cubs at New York on Tuesday at 10:07 a.m.

Any tiebreaker games would be televised by ESPN.
