Water polo

Bailey scored 10 goals in two victories last weekend. Bailey, a senior two-meter man, scored five times in a 12-4 victory over UC San Diego, and five in a 16-6 victory over Loyola Marymount. He leads Irvine with 30 points this season. The Anteaters are ranked sixth in the nation.

THIS WEEK

Women’s soccer: Stephanie Rigamat was named the Big West Conference player of the week after scoring both goals in the Anteaters’ 2-1 victory over North Texas. Irvine, 8-0-1 and 2-0 in the Big West, will host UCLA at 6 p.m. Wednesday and USC at 3 p.m. Sunday. UCLA is the ninth-ranked team in the country.

Water polo: Irvine faces the top team in the country, USC, at noon Sunday in Los Angeles.

Cross-country: Irvine did well at the UC Santa Barbara five-way meet, with the women’s team winning and the men finishing third. Freshman Lisa Gillis was the individual champion in the women’s race. Both teams will compete Saturday in the Stanford Invitational.

Men’s soccer: Irvine set team records in a 9-0 victory over Concordia for most goals and largest margin of victory. Tyler Theslof led the Anteaters with two goals and two assists. Irvine plays at San Diego State at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Women’s volleyball: Irvine will host Cal State Fullerton at 7 p.m. Saturday after traveling to New Mexico State Thursday. Larissa Carter, a sophomore from Fountain Valley High, leads the Anteaters in kill average and hitting percentage.

Men’s golf: Senior Andrew Wen finished seventh in the Pacific Invitational in Copperopolis, Calif., last week, as Irvine finished eighth in the 18-team field. Irvine will compete in the 49er Collegiate Classic Thursday and Friday in Long Beach.
