More than a dozen firefighters responded to a house fire Thursday in the 3100 block of West Parkview Circle. No injuries were reported, but the fire gutted the two-story, single-family home and caused about $157,000 in damage, said Fire Department spokeswoman Robyn Butler. The fire started when embers escaped the chimney and landed on the roof, Butler said. It could have been prevented by an inexpensive spark arrester, she said.
