My bus drove past the Los Angeles Convention Center last Friday morning, where hundreds of people were arriving to participate in a naturalization ceremony. Local private parking garages that charge $7 for the auto show and corporate shows were charging $15 to $25 for the privilege of becoming a United States citizen.
