Ice Dogs to Stay in Long Beach

Share

Ice Dog fans who have come to the Long Beach Arena with signs reading “No L.A.” were told Friday night that there would be no L.A. in the team’s future.

No Inglewood either.

At their 2-1 loss to Detroit, the Ice Dogs announced a two-year extension of their agreement with the city of Long Beach and SMG, operator of the arena, that will earn them a greater share of concession and parking revenue and ensure that when the Kings leave the Great Western Forum they will not be replaced by the IHL team.

SMG also promised to install a video board.

The Ice Dogs had played two games at the Forum this season because of scheduling conflicts in Long Beach, not, according to team official Lynn McCluggage, to sample the building with an eye to the future.
