Police fanned out through Old Town West on Wednesday, alerting residents that permit-only parking will begin Friday. City employees also erected signs detailing the parking restrictions on parts of Catalina, Florista and Sausalito streets.
Permanent permit stickers have still not arrived, but city officials decided to put permit-only parking into place with temporary placards. A handful of angry neighbors told City Council members Monday that nearly a month had passed since they were promised the permit parking and nothing had been done.
The permit-only parking was granted because overflow parking from the Cottonwood Christian Center was forcing residents to park far from home.
