Tonsillitis Puts Rice Status in Doubt
Forward Glen Rice, who sat out the last two games because of tonsillitis, showed up for but did not participate in practice on Thursday, saying that his tonsils were still swollen and that he did not know how much he could play Saturday against the Utah Jazz at Salt Lake City.
What has Rice, who is being treated with antibiotics and has no plans to have his tonsils removed, been doing the last four days?
“In bed most of the time,” he said. “Get up and move around a little bit, so I won’t get too out of whack. But basically just trying to conserve as much energy as possible.”
