The city and Chapman University will host the seventh annual Volunteer Connection Day on Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Santa Ana High School, 520 W. Walnut St. Included are workshops addressing social, cultural, educational and political roles concerning Latino students and the community. The program will provide skill training, such as cross-cultural communication and professional development. Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D-Garden Grove), Chapman sociology professor Paul Apodaca and a local radio host will speak at the free event. Advance registration is required.
