Visalia Breaks Open Game With Nine Runs in 5th, 6th

Lancaster allowed nine runs on seven hits and two errors in the fifth and sixth innings and lost to the Visalia Oaks, 12-8, at the Hangar on Monday afternoon.

JetHawk starter Jeff Farnsworth (0-2) was tagged for a three-run homer in the fifth inning by Rusty Keith. In the sixth, Farnsworth and reliever Tim McClaskey surrendered five more runs with one out as the JetHawk defense committed two errors.

Lancaster pulled to within 9-6 in the sixth when Shawn McCorkle hit a three-run homer off Oaks starter Julian Leyva (1-0) and Ramon Valera singled in a run. The JetHawks drew to within 10-8 when Mike Marchiano homered in the eighth.
