A Fountain Valley resident was killed last week in a motorcycle accident in Huntington Beach, police said. Darren Baumann, 26, was driving southbound on Newland Street on Saturday when he crashed into a street sign and a light pole at El Arroyo Drive, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Luis Ochoa said. Witnesses told police that Baumann was speeding and his front wheel had come off the ground. He died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet, police said, adding that alcohol did not appear to be a factor.
