Three teens who admitted throwing chunks of concrete and steel at vehicles from a freeway overpass began serving terms Thursday in Orange County Juvenile Hall. The teens, ages 14, 15 and 17, each pleaded guilty to two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. Their names have not been released because of their ages.

The three were ordered to pay restitution but the figure has not been determined, district attorney’s spokeswoman Tori Richards said. Nine vehicle windshields were smashed, and one car was dented, she said. The 14- and 17-year-olds were ordered to serve a year in Juvenile Hall, while the 15-year-old got a 120-day term.
