United Way Is Accepting Gifts for Littleton
Donations to help the victims of this week’s shootings at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo., are being accepted by Orange County’s United Way, officials said Friday.
The Healing Fund was set up by Mile High United Way in Denver with $20,000. It will help pay for services to victims and their families, said an agency spokesman, Nathan Silverman.
Every dollar received will be matched by a 50-cent contribution from a Denver-based foundation, he said.
In addition to counseling and medical services, the money will help implement violence-prevention programs in Littleton.
Donations may be sent to the Healing Fund, Orange County’s United Way, 18012 Mitchell Ave., Irvine, CA 92614. Information: (949) 660-7600.
