Woman Is Killed in Crash Near Oxnard
A woman died Saturday evening after her car slammed head-on into a truck in an unincorporated area west of Oxnard, authorities said.
The woman’s name and age were not released because her family lives outside the county and had not been notified of the crash as of late Saturday, authorities said.
Details offered by the California Highway Patrol were sketchy, but officers said the collision occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on Victoria Avenue north of Gonzales Road.
The woman’s BMW sedan collided with a Nissan pickup truck. Several firefighters responded to help free at least one trapped driver, authorities said.
It was unclear if the woman died at the scene or at a local hospital. Officers would not say what injuries the other driver may have sustained.
