Kings Tie for No. 7 With Win

Vlade Divac scored a season-high 28 points Saturday night as the Sacramento Kings won their fifth consecutive game, defeating the Dallas Mavericks, 105-102, at Sacramento.

Sacramento moved into a tie with idle Minnesota for the seventh playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Kings are 22-22, the first time the franchise has been at the .500 mark in April since the 1982-83 Kansas City Kings finished 45-37.

Gary Trent had 32 points and 14 rebounds for Dallas, and Michael Finley added 26 points and eight assists.

Jon Barry made two free throws with 14.3 seconds left to put the Kings ahead, 105-102. Dallas then missed two three-point tries in the final six seconds.

Golden State 93, Denver 74--Donyell Marshall had 18 points and 17 rebounds as the Warriors earned their most lopsided victory of the season at Oakland.

Erick Dampier added 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Warriors.

The Warriors, who lead the NBA in rebounding, outrebounded the Nuggets, 65-43.

Indiana 87, Chicago 69--Reggie Miller scored 20 points at Indianapolis, and the Pacers completed their first season sweep of the Bulls in 19 years.

Travis Best scored 12 points and Chris Mullin added 11 for the Pacers (29-15), who won their third in a row to close within one game of Miami for best record in the Eastern Conference.

Charlotte 97, New Jersey 82--David Wesley had 19 points and nine assists at Charlotte, N.C., and the Hornets kept pace in their pursuit of a playoff berth.

Elden Campbell had 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Hornets, who moved into a three-way tie with Toronto and New York for the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot.
