Highlight Reel: Where has this been the whole series? The Ducks show energy like somebody finally paid the power bill. Goalie Guy Hebert turns back point-blank efforts by Larry Murphy, Martin Lapointe and Sergei Fedorov. For all of his 14 saves though, Hebert is getting help from his defense for the first time in a while. Fredrik Olausson dives to deflect a shot by Lapointe, which seems only fair because by that time Hebert has six saves. And Kevin Haller is throwing his body and stick around enough to persuade the Red Wings to do a Duck imitation: shooting from the approximate vicinity of Garden Grove instead of going to the net. The Red Wings had gone up 3-0 in in the series by going to the net.

It’s Not in the Summary: Detroit’s Kris Draper is a mouthy sort and Jason Marshall apparently likes it quiet. The two tangle, are sentenced to the penalty box and resume their debate on the ice a few minutes later. Draper may well have gotten the final word, stepping aside so that Marshall’s rush ends with him headlong into the Duck bench. Hasn’t Disney made a cartoon like that?

Winning Number: The Ducks have 16 shots in the period after getting 24 all of Sunday, and the shots are taken among eight players. Among them is Teemu Selanne, shotless Sunday. He takes one shot, which is no biggie, but the Ducks aren’t going to win without him shooting.

Wrong Number: Paul Kariya is missing in action after suffering a broken foot Sunday, a small fact the Duck brain trust figured was classified information. The control-freak Disney Ducks don’t let anybody know until Tuesday afternoon.
