A Superior Court judge postponed this week’s arraignment of a woman charged with vehicular manslaughter in the death of 8-year-old Brent Adams, who was struck and killed this month as he crossed a street in a crosswalk. Superior Court Judge Martin Hairabedian Jr. will hear Margarita Gonzalez Monares’ plea June 8 at the Justice Center in Fullerton. Monares, 59, faces a charge of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence, which carries a maximum sentence of a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
