Mission Community Hospital’s psychiatric services facility will move from San Fernando to a new facility on the grounds of the hospital’s main building in Panorama City, officials have announced.

The $30-million project will take about three years to complete, said Bill Daniel, chief executive officer of Mission Community Hospital.

Construction on the 120-bed, two-story facility with a four-story parking structure will begin in the fall, Daniel said.

One level will offer psychiatric services while the other will provide general medical services, he said. The San Fernando building will be redesigned for psychiatric out-patient services and community educational services.

Widow, Wein, Cohen, O’Leary, Terasawa Architects and Interiors of Santa Monica will oversee the project. The new facility will be completed in July 2002.
