Children’s Choir to Sing at Festival in Italy

* The Ventura County Master Chorale Children’s Choir will perform at the International Children’s Choir Festival, held in July 2000 in Florence, Italy. Twelve choirs are chosen to perform at the festival. The choir, directed by Marcene Jardine, is made up of youngsters ages 9 to 16. Auditions to fill choir openings will be held Tuesday through Aug. 31. For audition information, call 983-0913.

Youth Club Gets Grant for Job Hunting

* The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Paula, Fillmore and Piru received a $103,000 grant from the Work Force Development Division of Ventura County. The money will be used to launch a program assisting economically disadvantaged young adults ages 18-21 with job-hunting skills and job placement.
