Conrad Cartoon

* Scott L. Phillips (letter, Aug. 18) actually seems to believe that Republicans are the “right-wing terrorists” Paul Conrad depicted in his Aug. 15 cartoon. Following Conrad’s call to arms maybe he would have us all led off to prison, as Conrad shows Buford O. Furrow Jr.
A serious question to The Times: Is what Conrad did to Christian conservatives in his political cartoon any different than what the Nazis did to Jews in their cartoons, showing them as ugly, subhuman terrorists who must be eliminated to save the state? Phillips’ letter proves it is not, as he agrees with what he sees as Conrad’s accurate depiction of Republicans as “Buford Furrows.”
That sounds like hate and discrimination to me.
