The City Council narrowed its search for an entry monument to a final design. The monument will feature a multi-trunked tree, a planter with flowers and a wall made of stacked field stones. They will be placed in traffic medians to define the city’s boundaries. The council briefly debated another design, which would have featured a dry stream bed and a wooden horse fence. Mayor Cindy Greengold was the biggest advocate of the horse fence design, saying it was bold and unique. But the mayor was on the fence enough to vote along with the rest of the council for the more traditional design.
