Bob Wickman wasn’t about to let victory get away two nights in a row.

After blowing a two-run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning Friday, Wickman worked a perfect ninth and the Milwaukee Brewers used three sacrifice flies for a 6-4 victory over the San Diego Padres on Saturday night.

Hideo Nomo (11-6) labored through five innings for the victory, giving up three runs and seven hits with five walks and seven strikeouts.

Two of the strikeouts got Nomo out of bases-loaded jams in the first and fourth innings.

Hector Ramirez gave up one run over three innings in his major league debut and Wickman struck out the final two batters in the ninth for his 27th save in 32 chances.

Milwaukee broke a 3-3 tie with a pair of runs in the sixth inning against San Diego starter Woody Williams (7-12).

Dave Nilsson drew a leadoff walk and moved to second on Ron Belliard’s single.

Rookie Kevin Barker’s bloop single to center loaded the bases before pinch-hitter Sean Berry lifted a sacrifice fly.

Marquis Grissom followed with a double off the wall in left to score Belliard.

The victory was only the second in nine games for the Brewers, who are 5-11 under interim Manager Jim Lefebvre.

Grissom also led off the game with a home run off Williams.

Wally Joyner had three hits for the Padres, who were bidding for their first three-game winning streak since July 18-20.

The one-time winners of 14 in a row, the Padres are 58-72, 19 games behind National League West-leading Arizona.

Padre right fielder Tony Gwynn went two for five.
