1 Driver Hospitalized After 4-Car Crash
An Oxnard man was seriously injured Friday morning when his pickup truck collided head-on with another truck on Highway 1 south of Mugu Rock, the Highway Patrol reported.
Michael Coyne, 25, was airlifted to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard after the 9:50 a.m. crash, said Officer George Orozco.
The impact of the crash trapped Coyne in his vehicle; firefighters used extrication tools to free him. He suffered a broken leg and arm, but authorities said the injuries were not life-threatening.
Coyne was driving south on the highway when a northbound driver swerved to avoid a car that had stopped for roadwork, Orozco said.
Four vehicles were involved in the crash. The only other injury was a driver who complained of neck pain.
