Pistol Whipping Ends Band’s Tiff
A Garden Grove High School student was pistol-whipped Tuesday night outside the school auditorium shortly before an annual Christmas concert, and two students were taken into custody for questioning, police said.
“As silly as it may sound, it was some kind of dispute among band members over the quality of their performance in the band,” Garden Grove Police Capt. Dave Albrecht said.
Though two students were being held for questioning, the one with the gun remained at large, authorities said.
The Christmas concert went on as scheduled. A basketball game also was being played at the school.
The boy was hit in the head with the pistol but was not seriously injured, police said.
