Littlerock Rolls in Overtime, 59-53

Kristel Jones and Jolene Haywood each scored four points in overtime and Littlerock High defeated El Camino Real, 59-53, on Friday in the first round of the Simi Valley girls’ basketball tournament.

Littlerock (8-3) made all six of its free throws and outscored El Camino Real, 12-6, in overtime.

Kristen Robinson scored 17 points for Littlerock, which rallied from a 26-15 halftime deficit.

Haywood finished with 15 points and Jones had 12.

The Conquistadores (3-1) were outscored, 20-11, in the fourth quarter but got a jumper from Karen Shun at the end of regulation to force overtime.

Aubrey Smithley scored 20 points, Christine Aguinaga added 15 and Shun had 12 for El Camino Real.

Royal 68, Valencia 37--Kristin Galbreath had 26 points and 10 rebounds for the Highlanders (6-3) in the third-place game at the Santa Paula tournament.

Galbreath was named to the all-tournament team.

Providence 53, Mt. Carmel (Maryland) 30--Allison Lane scored 17 of her 25 points in the first half and the Pioneers won a nonleague game in Baltimore.

Sonia Pelayo had 15 points for Providence, including 10 during a 23-10 run in the second quarter.

Providence led, 40-17, at halftime.

Simi Valley 49, Monroe 34--Elise Metcalf had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Pioneers in a pool-play victory in the Simi Valley tournament.

Simi Valley outscored Monroe, 30-8, in the second and third quarters.

Metcalf had 12 of her 14 points during those two quarters.

Teresa Cooper finished with 11 points for Simi Valley.

Campbell Hall 49, Marymount 36--Lena Carew had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Vikings (7-2) in a nonleague victory at Campbell Hall.

Brittany Morris added 13 points and 14 rebounds for Campbell Hall.

Pacifica 2, Oxnard 0--The Yellowjackets (3-3) forfeited in the first round of the Artesia tournament when they arrived and hour and a half late for the game.

Montclair Prep 46, Pacific Hills 42--Eshaya Murphy had 22 points and 12 rebounds, and the Mounties won the Marlborough tournament.

Jasmine Wesley contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Mounties (9-2).

Jannine Melendez had seven assists and five steals.
