PLACENTIA
City Council members this week approved the allocation of proceeds from the Earth Week Run, sponsored in April by Placentia Linda Hospital.
More than 1,220 people took part in the races, with revenue reaching $23,246, according to a council report released Tuesday. Expenses for the event came to $16,819 for a net profit of about $6,425.
The city receives 80% of the proceeds, with the hospital keeping the rest. Council members voted to spend the city’s share on recycling education programs in schools, community health charities and Community Center programs.
Placentia Linda Hospital plans to use its $1,285 in cancer research.
