Tawny Thorp of Westlake High knows when to turn it on.

“We always know that we can count on her in the fourth quarter,” Coach Don McMaster said.

Thorp, a junior guard, scored 14 of her 27 points in the final quarter Monday night to lead the Warriors to a 67-62 victory over El Camino Real in the Thousand Oaks tournament.

Thorp scored six points in the last 90 seconds to turn a 62-61 deficit into an opening-round victory.

Westlake (5-3) will meet Rio Mesa (3-5) tonight at 6:30 in a quarterfinal. The Warriors have won two previous meetings with Rio Mesa this season.
