* Key: The Ducks will try to get something--anything--past Flame goalie Fred Brathwaite, who ranks first in the NHL with a 1.91 goals-against average.

* Season series: Ducks beat the Flames, 2-1, on Nov. 17. Ladislav Kohn scored the game-winner at 13 minutes 11 seconds, his first goal in 31 games.

* About Calgary: The Flames have a eight-game unbeaten streak after beating Vancouver, 2-0, Sunday. It was Brathwaite’s second shutout in the last three games. He has allowed one goal in his last 231 minutes 17 seconds. Brathwaite is 7-1-1 in his last nine games, with the one loss coming in overtime. Center Jeff Shantz returned Sunday after missing eight games with bruised ribs.

* Keys: For Dallas, it’s stopping the Ducks’ Teemu Selanne, who has four goals in three games against the Stars this season.

* Season series: The Ducks have won two of three games.

* About Dallas: The Stars are beat up. Defenseman Derian Hatcher is out six to eight weeks with a lacerated calf muscle, an injury that occurred last week when he was cut by the skate blade of Edmonton’s Todd Marchant. Center Joe Nieuwendyk is day-to-day with injured ribs, but could play. Left wing Jere Lehtinen practiced Sunday for the first time since suffering a broken ankle, but is not expected to play. Defenseman Kevin Dean checked into a hospital Friday because of an irregular heartbeat and is out at least three games.
