KENTUCKY (6-5) vs. SYRACUSE (6-5)

* When: 1 p.m.

* Television: ESPN

* Update: After two consecutive berths in the bowl championship series, Syracuse finds itself playing for pride--and a winning record--against Kentucky. A loss would give the Orangemen their worst record since 1986. Kentucky had a better season than expected. The Wildcats lost quarterback Tim Couch, the entire offensive line and leading receiver Craig Yeast from last year’s squad, which took the school to its first bowl in five years. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Coach Hal Mumme, but close victories over Division I-AA Connecticut and Vanderbilt helped the Wildcats earn a bowl bid.
