No. 1 Tennessee 96, Mississippi 58--Semeka Randall scored 23 points and top-ranked Tennessee held Mississippi to 25% shooting from the field Thursday in a Southeastern Conference game at Knoxville, Tenn.
Tamika Catchings added 16 points for Tennessee (20-1, 9-0), which shot 57% from the field. Becky Myatt scored 15 points for Mississippi (13-8, 4-6).
No. 2 Purdue 96, Providence 67--Sharon White-McCarty scored 24 points and Ukari Figgs added 20 at Providence, R.I., as Purdue won its 18th in a row.
Purdue (20-1) took command by outscoring Providence, 24-13, over the final nine minutes of the first half to take a 53-34 lead into the break. Providence (3-17) was led by Meghan Hinds with 17 points.
No. 5 Colorado State 67, Rice 50--Becky Hammon scored 25 points and Katie Cronin had 21 points and 18 rebounds at Houston to lead Colorado State (23-1, 8-0) to the Western Athletic Conference victory over Rice (12-8, 5-3).
No. 9 Duke 66, No. 16 Virginia 56--Peppi Browne scored seven of her 20 points during a game-ending 33-5 run at Charlottesville, Va., as Duke (19-4, 11-0) remained perfect in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Virginia (15-6, 8-3) went cold after taking a 51-33 lead with 12:34 left, making just two field goals the rest of the way.
No. 19 Auburn 68, Kentucky 67--Conswella Sparrow had 16 points and eight rebounds in a Southeastern Conference game at Lexington, Ky.
Auburn (17-4, 7-3) was 22 of 27 from the foul line. Kentucky (14-8, 4-6) was nine of 15 from the line.
No. 25 Florida International 72, South Alabama 49--Dalma Ivanyi scored 20 points in the Sun Belt Conference rout at Mobile, Ala.
Zuzana Michalcova added 18 points for the Golden Panthers (17-3, 5-1). South Alabama (7-10, 2-3) had 27 turnovers.
