Man Arrested on Suspicion of Molesting Girls
Newport Beach police arrested a man Friday on suspicion of molesting and kidnapping two 10-year-old girls.
Silvio Michael Perrella, 47, is being held on $250,000 bail at Newport Beach City Jail, Newport Beach Police Sgt. Mike McDermott said.
Police say the alleged molestation and kidnapping occurred Jan. 30 when Perrella showed up at a friend’s Costa Mesa home, where the children were unsupervised.
The girls told police that Perrella rubbed up against them and demanded they touch him.
Then, Perrella allegedly forced the two girls into his car and drove them to his Newport Beach condominium.
There, according to police, the girls played video games before he allegedly molested them again.
The girls told police that Perrella then returned them to the Costa Mesa home.
McDermott said Perrella is a manager with an Irvine contractor’s office.
