The more Quincy Lewis and Kevin Clark score, the better Minnesota’s chance for victory. Against Michigan on Sunday, they combined for only 30 points and the No. 18 Golden Gophers fell, 75-65, at Ann Arbor, Mich.

Louis Bullock scored 27 points as the Wolverines, 10-14 overall and 4-7 in the Big Ten, opened a 21-point lead and withstood a late Golden Gopher rally that brought them as close as five with less than a minute left.

Lewis, the Big Ten’s scoring leader, and Clark came into the game averaging a combined 43 points when Minnesota (14-6, 5-5) wins and 31 when it loses.

The game appeared to be decided in regulation when New Mexico’s Kenny Thomas made a 15-footer as the buzzer sounded. But the officials ruled Thomas’ shot came after the buzzer.
